Analysts work with clients to provide insight to markets and help manage, change and plan for the future in line with their strategy. This could be for one specific project, or as a permanent feature of the organisation. You’ll need to understand the current organisational situation, identify future needs and create solutions to help meet those needs. Your job would include:

  • Prepare reports for internal and external audiences using business analytics reporting tools
  • Manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data sets
  • Develop records management processes and policies
  • Gather, understand and document detailed business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques

Career paths into this role

  • Apprentice route
    You could qualify as a Financial and Data Analyst whilst working in a supporting role. You study alongside your practical experience

  • Graduate route
    You’ll need an RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) accredited undergraduate or postgraduate degree. You’ll usually need 5 GCSEs (9-4) and 3 A Levels to get onto a degree course, but you might be able to use other qualifications.
