12 Programmes for Property Apprenticeships you should know about

With National Apprenticeship Week 2022 completed, we thought we’d put together a little roundup of what’s on offer from 12 of the major property organisations in the industry. Because who doesn’t love a shortcut to the main info?

Savills

Rated 12th in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers for the 2019 RateMyApprenticeship awards (no biggie), Savills currently has 17 programmes on offer across the UK on their apprenticeship jobs list. From residential sales and lettings to property management and surveying, there are absolutely loads of options for applicants aged 18 years upwards.

Knight Frank

Having more than 18,000 people across 60 territories globally, Knight Frank is the largest privately-owned property consultancy in the world. Boom. Whether you choose a 1-year Level 3 programme or a 4-year BSc degree apprenticeship, you’ll get hands-on experience in residential, commercial, and business services alongside your learning.

Carter Jonas

Residential, commercial, rural, or planning and development: wherever your interests in property lies, Carter Jonas has teams in each sector of the industry. Plus, they’ve got a number of different routes into a career with them – check out their decision tree if you’re not sure what to branch into… (ba dum, tish).

Lambert Smith Hampton

These guys might have been around since 1773, but they’re all about the future of young talent in property. LSH (as they’re better known) have apprenticeship opportunities not only in surveying but also in I.T., Accountancy, Business Administration, and Digital Marketing.

JLL

Nope, not a boy band: a world leader in real estate services. They buy, build, occupy and invest in loads of different types of property all over the UK. JLL’s wide-ranging School Leaver programmes will see you earn while you learn, amongst a bunch of other benefits.

CBRE

Starting in the States in 1906, this property powerhouse now has offices all over the world, including across the UK and Ireland. CBRE has 4 or 5 year programmes for folk leaving school after GCSEs or A Levels (or their equivalents), and their early careers route has everything from Project Management and Environmental Consultancy to a Technical Engineering apprenticeship.

Colliers

Commercial and residential, local, regional, national and international – Colliers provides solutions to occupiers, developers, owners and investors. So quite a lot of scope for you! Their Early Careers Programme gives you more than just a qualification – it’s a first-class platform that’ll launch your future in property.

BNP Paribas Real Estate

With woodland and forestry, estates, farms and land, as well as coverage of the other usual fields in property, there’s lots on offer at BNPPRE to grow your personal development (geddit?). 12-24 month apprenticeships, or 5-year degree level apprenticeships, there’s a wide range across the business including surveying, planning, business administration, sales and marketing.

Gerald Eve

An independent property partnership, Gerald Eve advises investors, occupiers and developers across the full spectrum of sectors. You can get a 1-year Administrative Apprenticeship straight out of school, a 2-year Level 3 RICS Surveying Apprenticeship (like an A Level), or a 5-year degree level apprenticeship as a Chartered Surveyor. And they do paid work experience for people aged 17+. Cool, huh?

Cushman & Wakefield

Offices across the UK and the world; portfolios and services across the industry; 50,000 team members: there’s no doubt Cushman & Wakefield can take you places. They offer a 5-year apprenticeship as well as work experience to see if the industry is the right one for you. Like a ‘try before you buy’ kinda thing.

Avison Young

A global commercial real estate company, Avison Young has a good range of options through its apprenticeship programmes. Typically providing a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship in surveying or planning, they also offer apprenticeship opportunities within their support functions, including accountancy, IT and business administration.

Allsop

One of the UK’s leading property consultancies, Allsop’s degree apprenticeship scheme gets you a Level 6 BSc (Hons) in Real Estate. You’ll be shown the ropes by experienced partners, get given real responsibilities, and come out at the end as a Chartered Surveyor. Decent, eh?
